The crowded central hall of the Old Slaughterhouse multipurpose hall was flooded with melodies and wonderful children’s voices on the evening of Wednesday, April 24, as part of the event jointly organized by the 10th primary school of Patras and the 10th primary school of Aigio.
“When music meets poetry” was the title of the event that managed to bridge music and poetry by connecting the two arts through the matching pairing of two emblematic creators, Manos Hadjidakis and Nikos Gatsos. Two schools met and the fruit of their collaboration was fruitful and extremely delicious with the wonderful children’s voices of the students and the great melodies of the songs forming a great musical and poetic evening.
Under the guidance of their music teacher, Mr. Angelos Papagelopoulos, our children reintroduced in their own unique way the two leading Greek creators, the lyricist Nikos Gatsos and the composer Manos Hadjidakis, and a small, paper moon illuminated the dreams of young and old who they filled the hall. Songs of the soul and the dream resonated and bewitched sometimes as lullabies, sometimes as tender sounds and sweet reflections of the golden star April.
The event was held in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Promotion Structure of the Municipality of Patreon.
