Magdy Abdel Hamid, the medical director of Zayed Specialized Hospital, and the physician treating the late journalist Wael El-Ibrashi, revealed the details of his health condition before his death.
Abdel Hamid said in statements to “Masrawy” today, Sunday, that Al-Ibrashi left the hospital on March 28 of last year, and has not been admitted to the hospital once more since then.
He added, “Al-Ibrashi was discharged from the hospital with 2% cirrhosis, meaning that 40% of the lung’s alveoli are working efficiently, and things were going well on the basis that he lived with oxygen sessions and devices so that the efficiency of the 40% would be increased, or 60% less in order to live.” Normally”.
He explained that he used to send doctors from Zayed Specialized Hospital to follow up on his condition on a weekly basis, and I was surprised today by the news of his death.
And regarding the last visit to Al-Ibrashi, Abdel Hamid said: “It was last week, and things were good, and there was no strong improvement, and I did not go outside the house, and the lung needed a year or a year and a half to improve.”
He pointed out that his psychological condition was not well due to what he sees and hears of rumors of his death since he was in the hospital, stressing that the lung was the most affected by Corona.
