The publisher Annapurna Interactive is known for distributing artful indie games to the masses. During a showcase, the developer announced a new dinosaur horror survival game that is currently under active development. It’s called The Lost Wild.
The Lost Wild was originally developed by the developer almost a year ago Great Ape Games announced but has now been confirmed that Annapurna Interactive takes over the publication obligations. A new cinematic trailer for The Lost Wild has been released, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the gameplay. Assuming the movie reflects the gameplay of the game, it seems like players are exploring a lush jungle environment teeming with dangerous dinosaurs. The game uses a first-person perspective, with the player character using a compass for guidance as they navigate the jungle.
Those who care for The Lost Wild Those interested should note that it is currently only confirmed for a PC release on Steam and is not expected to be out until 2024. However, if the game is well received by gamers, then it would certainly be possible that it would later be released for PlayStation and Xbox. After all, there is currently a huge gap in dinosaur horror games available on modern consoles, so the game has an excellent opportunity to fill that niche.
There haven’t been many attempts at dinosaur horror games over the years, with most games featuring dinosaurs falling squarely into the action category, such as the upcoming one Exoprimal-Game of Capcom. The first dinosaur survival horror game franchise, Dino Crisishas been dormant for years and it doesn’t look like Capcom will be continuing with a new game in this series any time soon.
Rumors of a Dino Crisis remake persist, but nothing official has been announced and some reports suggest plans for such a game have already been scrapped.
