A new sports facility was fully renovated in the city of Cumaná. This is the “Los Hermanos Gómez” Boxing Gym located in the El Guapo community, Ayacucho parish, in the city of Cumaná.

The work was carried out by the mayor of the Sucre municipality, with an investment of over 3 million 500 thousand bolivars.

This was stated by the local leader, Luis Javier Sifontes, who explained that the work consisted of waterproofing the roof, modernizing the lighting system, replacing sanitary modules, building and equipping two bedrooms, and restoring the kitchen area and the training gym.

“We have had several world champions and it is essential that the state of Sucre can enjoy facilities that are truly in line with the demands of the boxing family,” he said.

For his part, the Vice President of the Sucre State Boxing Association, Oswaldo de la Cruz, thanked the efforts and support of the sporting glories, the boxing association and the working men and women of the organized community.

The event also paid emotional tribute to Morochito Rodríguez, Olympic medalist and boxing legend.
