The first season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power may not have been the resounding success that Amazon was hoping for, but Prime Video continues to bet on production and promise even grander events for the second season.
According to the fan site Fellowship of Fans, the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will feature a younger version of Shelob, the Giant Spider who appears in The Return of the King. According to the rumor, the character will play a “small role” in the season.
This is certainly some of the most exciting information we’ve received regarding the series to date. For those who don’t know, Shelob is a spider-like demon who almost manages to kill Frodo in the passage of Cirith Ungol during the events of “The Return of the King”.
In related news, actors Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir), Sophia Nomvete (Princess Disa), Owain Arthur (Prince Durin IV) and Peter Mullan (King Durin III) have taken a break from filming Season 2, in the United Kingdom, to discuss the first season and tell some news that are to come in the new episodes of the production.
Clark shared news regarding Season 2. She confirmed that her character, Galadriel, will wear one of the elven rings forged earlierrevealing that additional rings will be forged in the highly anticipated new season, giving fans a taste of what’s in the works.
For now, we can only wait to find out if the Shelob rumor is true.
So, looking forward to the premiere of the new season of the series?
