Standing Stone Gamesopened at the end of the followingnoon pre-orders for its next expansion “The Sailors of Umbar” which is scheduled for release on November 1, 2023.
These pre-orders open the possibility of playing the new class of the game “the Sailor” upon purchase. It will be available in the in-game store in May 2024 for 1000 points SdAO.

The sailor
Sailors are confident hand-to-hand combatants who skillfully cross swords to defy the forces of evil. Marines have an innate sense of the flow of combat and rely on their balance to adapt their fighting style to the situation. They also know how to use combinations of individual moves to create powerful skill chains. In community, Sailors can use songs to coordinate and motivate their allies. They can also concoct strange brews that can confuse enemies. Balance – Sailors use a front-to-back system called Balance. In this system, your three main states are ‘Stern’, ‘Stable’ and ‘Bow’. By default, you will always be in a ‘Stable’ state and the skills you use progress you towards Stern or Bow. But beware ! If you get too close to one of the two extremes, you will lose your balance and will have to hurry back to the Stable state, otherwise you will be penalized for remaining out of balance for too long. Fencing – Sailors are trained melee fighters and their fencing skills can be used to create skill combo chains. Each individual fencing skill grants you a short buff on the ‘last’ skill used, which will improve your fencing skills even further. For example, using ‘Lunge’ will improve your Retreat or Advance if you use one of those skills right following. In the description of Lunge, you will also notice that it says ‘Advanced applies hemorrhage’ in red. This indicates that there is a trait in the Red skill tree that grants Slot this combo effect. Fencing effects only affect the ‘next’ fencing skill used. So, if you use Counter-Offensive then Blade Shield, the combo effect of Blade Shield will remove the combo effect obtained by Counter-Offensive. However, non-fencing skills will not erase these effects. So you can use Backpack or Sea Song skills without breaking your fencing combo chain. The Sailor has three trait specializations: The Song Provocateur, The Duelist and The Bourlingueur
The Song Provocateur – This Sailor specializes in group support and ensures that the group’s damage is maximized. This line is constructed as a direct equivalent to the Captain’s Warmaster red line. Specializing in The Song Provocateur gives you access to a number of singing skills unique to this tree and will make your chants more effective. Skills like West Wind and Stars as Guides will benefit your party, while Marked Enemies and The Destruction of Thangorodrim will increase the damage your allies do to your enemies.
The Duelists – The Duelist is a flexible melee fighter who works to maximize his damage, while maintaining a skill set that will help you avoid damage and escape visibly losing encounters. A duelist sacrifices most of their party support potential, found in other specializations, but benefits from increased damage and fencing effectiveness.
The Bourlingueur – The Wanderer specializes in group support and focuses on controlling and removing bonuses from enemies. He also helps the group stay alive. This tree is built as a direct equivalent of the Old Master tree of the Loremaster and The Thief of the Burglar. Specializing in The Jammer gives you access to a number of powerful debuff and crowd control skills unique to this tree. Although The Wanderer benefits from unique fencing combos, most of his unique skills and effects come from Backpack skills.
