After a long drought, it has been raining pleasantly across the country since yesterday.
Some areas have benefited greatly from the rain, but it was still not enough rain to completely relieve the drought.
Now, as it is predicted that there will be no rain news for a while, farmers say that there is not much to worry regarding.
Correspondent Kim Ji-in reported.

After the rain stopped, I visited the Gongneung Reservoir in Paju, Gyeonggi-do.
You notice a water dispenser that someone has brought.
A reservoir that was like a lake turned into a small puddle.
The rain has moistened the parched land, but the bottom of the reservoir, cracked like a turtle’s back, is still intact.
Dead fish rot on one side of the cracked floor.
Seashells wandering in search of water are dead all over the lake.
It has rained 8.9 millimeters since yesterday in the Paju area.
There was not much quantity, so it was not enough to fill the barren land.
Farmers, who had been looking forward to the rain following a long time, are worried once more when the rain clouds that barely wet the ground pass.

“It’s better than not coming at all. (But) The sun came out and it dried up quickly. What’s funny regarding farming in the field? It doesn’t rain (for a while). I’m worried.”
It is the amount of rain that fell nationwide from yesterday to today.
The southern coast, Jeju Island, and the eastern coast, through which the center of the rain cloud passed, received a lot of rain in the range of 50 to 100 mm.
This rain is expected to be of great help in these areas.
However, in the southern inland and central regions, there were many places where it did not fall even 10mm, so it was not enough for the drought to clear up.

“It seems that it will take regarding 50 to 60 mm to feel the drought to be relieved to some extent. It seems that more than 100 mm of precipitation is needed for the drought to return to a completely normal state.”
The Korea Meteorological Administration has predicted that it will not rain across the country until the middle of next week following the rain stops this time.
Experts predicted that enough rain to ease the country’s drought will have to wait until the rainy season, which is expected to start following mid-June.
