Like us, the bear likes to stand upright, is an omnivore and nurses its seated cubs. The new “Graphic Worlds” collection from Actes Sud invites us to get to know it in a scientific and offbeat comic strip, illustrated by the Ardèche resident Olivier Lavigne.
Did you have a teddy when you were little? Yes ? Olivier Lavigne too. However, like you probably, Olivier Lavigne from Ardèche knew little regarding this animal, so adored by children and hunted by adults. Olivier Lavigne is a visual artist and graphic designer. He lives in Saint-Christol. The Actes Sud editions offered him to participate in their new collection, Graphic worlds derived from the very serious collection Wild Worlds. For each title, it is a great scientific name who collaborates with an illustrator to bring out a unique, scientific, poetic and funny work.
The small bear humorous treatise for human use was born from the meeting between Olivier Lavigne and the explorer Rémy Marion*. It is* an astonishing object, as instructive as rock’nroll, very graphic*,* all in Indian ink. The bear is in turn gardener, lover, dancer or cult. He appears there above all as a cousin of whom one would have the wrong idea and who deserves to be known.
