The life of Michael Jackson brought to the big screen

A first feature film intended for the big screen will be shot on the life of the fallen king of pop, Michael Jackson. The film, simply titled Michaelwill be produced by Lionsgate, with producer Graham King at the helm, who won the Best Picture Oscar in 2019 for Bohemian Rhapsody.

According to information obtained by Indiewireit is John Logan who will be in charge of the screenplay, he who has already been nominated for the Oscars three times for his work, in particular for Gladiatorde Ridley Scott et The Aviatorby Martin Scorsese, incidentally produced by Graham King.

If the film promises to approach the life for the less complex of Michael Jackson, it is unclear for the moment if it will deal head on with the allegations of pedophilia and sexual assaults which marked the last years of the life of the singer. American who died in 2009 at age 50. Several of his many successes will however be used as windows on some of the significant passages of his artistic and personal life.

“I first met the Jackson family in 1984 and am honored to be able to pass on their legacy to the big screen,” said Graham King. It is important to note that the film will be co-produced by John Branca and John McClain, co-responsible for the estate of Michael Jackson. The two men are also involved in the production of the musical MJ The Musical, currently performing on stage on Broadway.
