The Estéreo Picnic Festival has revealed the first surprise of the eleventh edition. The group that has created hymns will debut on Colombian soil on March 25, 2022.
2022 marks the insurmountable return of the Picnic Stereo Festival. And to open the year: the revelation of the first of the three surprise artists of the eleventh edition of the Festival. Contemporary legends of garage rock that marked a decade and that with anthems such as “Don’t Look Back Into The Sun”, “Music When The Lights Go Out” and “Can’t Stand Me Now” became the British nemesis of The Strokes, The Libertines will debut on Colombian soil on March 25, 2022 at the Briceño 18 Golf Course, at the start of the three best days of the year.

When Pete Doherty and Carl Barât moved in together in North London in what they called “The Albion rooms”, not only was a musical friendship formed, but one of the most rabid songwriting duos of the early dawn of the 21st century amid of that delicious revival of punk and garage rock of the 2000s. Poetic spirit, lyrical rage in the guitar riffs, decadence and three essential albums have marked the career of The Libertines. Doherty became one of the last great rock stars and his band one of England’s first indie rock phenomena.
“Music, fashion and art; They were the things we were willing to die for. Is my hair okay? Have you heard this melody? They are the things that saved us. It’s the stuff that saves the kids on Nuneaton council property. There is no other way out,” Doherty told The Guardian in 2015 at the celebration of his latest album Anthems for Doomed Youth. That is the libertine spirit of their music and the sense of freedom that is only experienced in the FEP. Foo Fighters will close the night of the 25th, a day of rock, and Doherty and the other libertines will be there to play for the first time in Colombia under the magical night of the Festival.
