The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom promises to be one of the highest rated releases of 2023. Moreover, in a few months, Nintendo will be able to boast a number of Game of the Year awards. But not everyone agrees with this.
This opinion is not shared by the editor of Gfinity, who in his review emphasizes that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is too heavily inspired by the previous part and does not have “classic Zelda magic”. In his opinion, the game is “more like the same”, which is likely to cause mixed feelings among the brand’s die-hard fans.
Reading the review, you can quickly understand that Josh Brown is not among the fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link’s adventure this year only expands on a formula proposed a few years ago. For this reason, the game received a rating of only “6 out of 10” from the reviewer.
Perhaps the publication would have gone unnoticed, but the text appeared on Metacritic, and because of it, the score actually reduced the game’s average score from 97% to 96%.
The situation has caused a big stir in the community, which does not understand why The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom received such a low rating. And some accuse the editors of taking money from Sony to lower the average score.
Other readers understand the reviewer who did not quite like the game, while still others accuse Gfinity of a “clickbait review” in order to gain views and create a big buzz among the audience.
