Grant Flower is a brilliant Zimbabwean batsman who has etched his name in the history of international cricket.. He was a right-handed opening batsman and a decent left-arm leg-spinner. He is also considered one of the best fielders in the world.

Fielding was generally done in the gully. But he is good at any position. His fielding especially in ODIs is a role model for aspiring cricketers.

Flower’s batting hallmark was stylish shots that moved slowly through the gaps. Although he seems to have an important job leaving the maximum strike to other stroke makers in the team like his brother Andy Flower. The importance of Flower’s role in batting should never be underestimated.

The only Zimbabwean batsman to score a century in both innings of a Test, he was an anchorman capable of batting for hours to stabilize the team’s innings.

He is second only to Sachin Tendulkar in the list of those who have missed a century in ODI cricket the most times in the nineties.
