The Lebanese Medical Social Association, in the person of its president, Professor Raif Reda, denounced the storming of the “Sahel Hospital” by armed elements with the aim of removing one of the patients by force, which caused panic among the patients. Therefore, the medical assembly condemns this attack on the Sahel Hospital, which is known for its good reputation and for helping people in the most difficult circumstances.”
The assembly called on “the security forces to expose the aggressors, refer them to the competent judiciary, and impose the most severe penalties on them to prevent a recurrence of such a threat, to serve as a lesson to others.” He asked, “How can hospitals, doctors and other medical personnel continue in such an atmosphere in the absence of the rule of law and institutions?”
