‘The least selfish player in the world’: all of England is crazy about this Kevin De Bruyne

There was never a match. Opposed to Luton Town in the FA Cup, Manchester City made short work of his opponent, winning 6-2.

As is often the case, the victory bears the seal of a hellish duo on the Mancunian side: Erling Haaland et Kevin De Bruyne. The first planted a quintuplet. The 2nd signed an incredible quadruplet of assists, all directed towards his cyborg Norwegian teammate.

Obviously, after the meeting, the names of the two gluttons were on everyone’s lips. In the front row to attend this common festival, Pep Guardiola was, as often, full of praise: “Their connection is absolutely incredible. Haaland needs De Bruyne’s vision, quality and, above all, selflessness. Kevin is truly the least selfish player in the world. He needs Haaland’s dynamism and calls.”

In other words, according to the Mancunian coach, his two leaders complement each other rather well. Questioned after the meeting, Haaland also made a declaration of love towards his playmaker: “Playing with De Bruyne is a real pleasure. We know what we bring to each other, it works really well.”

Subsequently, Haaland released a sentence that should scare a lot of people across the Channel : We’re getting there slowly. I finally feel 100% again, it’s an incredible feeling. We are ready to move forward. We have some great weeks ahead.”

On the opposing side, we could obviously only see the damage. Carried away by the Mancunian tornado, the Luton Town coach, Rob Edwards was licking his wounds after the match. Not without, obviously, rolling out the red carpet for the De Bruyne-Haaland duo: “They were incredible. They took advantage of the space they had so well. I’m proud of my guys. They defended so well but against these two guys, no amount of defense would have been enough.”
