Barcelona’s position is complicated by the successive leaks of his case with the vice-chairman of the Referees Committee
The issue of financial payments from FC Barcelona to the former vice-chairman of the Spanish Referees Committee is becoming more and more complicated day following day, increasing the conviction of the Catalan club, which was apparently the only client of Enriquez Negrera.
Spanish newspapers have been circulating for days on reports of financial payments made by FC Barcelona to the former vice-chairman of the Referees Committee between 2016 and 2018, which amounted to more than 1.6 million euros, divided into 33 payments.
According to Marca newspaper, the company owned by Enriquez was dependent on Barcelona’s payments; In the year following Barcelona stopped paying, its income amounted to 7,384 euros, and the income reached zero in 2020.
FC Barcelona stopped paying the company owned by the vice-chairman of the Referees Committee and his son with his departure from office. But according to Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Negrera tried to blackmail Barcelona if they retracted those payments.
Barcelona had justified these payments and placed them under the item “preparation and delivery of technical videos for the club” or the guiding technical video. And that the relationship with the company was purely commercial.
