The laxity of the authorities in the face of the question will lead the country into a disastrous situation in the days to come.
Transportation public has rules to follow.
Each citizen who decides to use public transport has the obligation to comply with the requirements of the regulations in this area.
The authorities have an obligation to enforce these regulations for the credit of the state, the maintenance of public order and the safety of citizens.
Unfortunately motorcycle taxi drivers for one reason or another benefit from a laxity that does not speak its name.
Without any knowledge of the highway code, without a driving licence,… they take to the road with all the consequences that follow.
For a no or a yes, police officers are attacked, traffic is disrupted, road installations are ransacked by motorbike taxi drivers.
Unfortunately, this situation of violence and violation as a means of expression and pressure on the authorities that we used to see in Bamako is spreading to the regional capitals.
The city of Sikasso had its dose this week and soon another locality will follow suit.
It is time for the authorities to take all their responsibilities in the face of this situation before it is too late.
It would be too late if nothing is done.
May Mali be built from our actions.
