Lillestølen is a partner in Langseth Advokatfirma DA and has been appointed as a manager by the Supervisory Board for legal professions to unravel what has happened in what has been referred to as one of the biggest fraud cases in recent times in Norway.
Until now, payments from borrowers of NOK 727 million have been uncovered to Advokatfirma Bull Årstad DA’s client account where the deceased lawyer was employed until the turn of the year. NOK 234 million has been paid to the lawyer himself. However, the total claims submitted to the bankruptcy estate amount to more than NOK 700 million, according to the channel.
According to the news site AdvokatWatch is the total sum of the transactions of NOK 961 million.
– The reason for this could be, among other things, that the requirements also include lost interest income. In addition, there may be losses here that have gone through the deceased’s sole proprietorship after he left Bull Årstad in December 2023. Here we have not been able to review all the transactions, says Lillestølen to NRK.
So far, transactions from 2013 until today have been reviewed.
Around 60 companies and private individuals from Rogaland have reported that they have lent money to the late Sandnes lawyer. The person concerned is accused of having run a private and fictitious loan business.
The trustee says that the explanation for this having gone on for over 15 years is that the lenders have been paid interest along the way. In order to pay out interest to the lenders, the deceased lawyer has had to arrange new loans.
