The Laver Cup will be the next tournament that Rafael Nadal will compete in – Futbolred

After having participated in what were his last Olympic Games both in the singles and doubles categories alongside Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal is now preparing to continue writing his history in the white sport.

The tennis legend is still alive and well, and despite not being at the level of the best in the world today, Rafa defends a legacy that could last for many years before someone better than him surpasses him.

At the end of his participation in Paris 2024, Nadal officially announced that he will not be playing in the last Grand Slam of the season, which is the US Open, putting an end to the rumors that placed him on North American soil.

Laver Cup, Rafael Nadal’s next challenge in 2024

“I am writing to you today to let you know that I have decided not to compete at this year’s US Open, a place where I have incredible memories. I will miss those electric and special evening sessions in NYC, but I don’t think I will be able to give 100% this time,” Nadal said a few days ago through his official X account.

In the same message, the Balearic player confirmed that the Laver Cup will be his next tournament to compete in, confirming his participation weeks before the show that will take place in Berlin.

“Thank you to all my fans in the United States in particular. I will miss you all and see you another time. Good luck to everyone at the always amazing US Open! My next event will be the Laver Cup in Berlin,” said Nadal.

This tournament will be held from next Friday, September 20th to Sunday, September 22nd.

It is worth remembering that the last time Rafa set foot in this tournament was to play alongside Roger Federer during 2022, in the middle of the last match that the Swiss had in his professional career.
