The Chinese company, Nubia Technology, specialized in the manufacture of smartphones for games, launched today, Wednesday, its new phone, “Z40S Pro”, for global markets, which is directed, unusually for the company, for photography.
The phone comes as a successor to the “Z40 Pro” model, which was launched last February.
The Z40S Pro features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED curved screen (1080 x 2400 pixels) with a 144Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. 10-bit color depth and 1000 nits peak brightness.
The screen includes a Punch Hole Notch in the middle of the top for the selfie camera. The phone is powered by an octa-core “Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1” processor developed by the American company “Qualcomm”, paired with an advanced “Adreno” graphics processor.
The processor works with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 built-in storage.
The phone, which supports two “nano” SIM cards, works on the “Android 12” operating system directly from the box with the “MyOS 12” interface of the Chinese company.
Regarding the battery, the phone either contains a 5000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support or a 4600 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The phone weighs regarding 205 grams, and supports “Wi-Fi 6E”, “Bluetooth v5.2” and “NFC”.
Camera
Photography is the most unique part of the phone, as Nubia Technology – owned by ZTE – claims that its new phone will provide a unique experience of photography with a more professional performance. The phone has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 primary sensor with f / 1.6 lens slot.
The camera setup also includes a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 116-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. The three sensors support advanced optical stabilization (OIS).
The rear camera setup features the ability to record videos up to “4K” resolution at 120 frames per second, and up to “8K” macro photography, and the camera setup contains a “6 LED” flash and a flicker sensor that helps when shooting under artificial lighting.
The camera setup also comes with “NEOVision” technology developed by the Chinese company to take improved photos. The smartphone also has a dedicated slider on the right panel to record videos or take a picture instantly, and for selfies and video calls, the phone has a 16-megapixel front camera.
The price of the first model of the phone, which comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and an 80-watt charger, starts at $ 503. The other model (4600mAh and 120W charger) starts at $636, and the phone comes in “Magic Green” and “Night Sea” color options.
