The activities of the Oil Painting Forum 2022, entitled (Syria, the Cradle of Civilizations), were launched at the Culture Palace in the city of Suwayda.
Eight plastic artists, Adnan Hamida, Nadia Naim, Ayman Fadda Radwan, Bassam Abu Zeidan, Dr. Saed Salloum, Dr. Youssef Al-Boushi, Hikmat Naim and Safa Bunduq, will participate in the forum, which will run until June 30.
Laila Abu Fakher, Director of Culture in As-Suwayda, explained in a speech during the opening that Syria has not lost sight of the human civilization scene throughout its ancient history, and there is no more capable than art to document and photograph this civilized state and reformulate reality in a new way, especially since the oil painting that will be applied directly within the forum It is one of the forms of plastic arts that generates an artistic state that holds the most beautiful links between artists, where colors speak, show their beauty, and effectively express thoughts and feelings.
Plastic artist Adnan Hamida said in a statement to the media that this experience achieves direct communication between artists during work and provides a distinguished artistic production, in addition to exchanging experiences, establishing artistic dialogues, getting acquainted with the artistic methods of the participants, and increasing and deepening people’s visual taste.
The plastic artist, Diana Naim, indicated that her participation in the oil painting forums represents the second personal experience for her and is important because she is in direct contact with the participating artists and the public, which gives an idea of the way each artist works and his style and contributes to bringing his experience closer to people.
The plastic artist Bassam Abu Zidan considered that participation in the forums constitutes an opportunity to exchange experiences between artists and present everything that is new. It is a rich experience that contributes to the identification of modern art methods and the dissemination of cultural awareness among the public. In giving a new atmosphere to the artist’s work, in a different way from the studio.
The forum’s activities, which will last for five days, include a lecture by the writer Dr. Thaer Zain Al-Din entitled “Representations of Fine Art in the Novel”, an open art work day, drawing in the lap of nature, a musical listening session while working, with the screening of a film by the artist Modigliani, to conclude the forum with the opening of an exhibition of the completed works during it and a musical segment of the Institute Farid al-Atrash for music in As-Suwayda, in addition to honoring the participating artists.
