The Last of Us Part 1 PC port had several performance issues at launch

In Steam reviews, players mostly complained regarding the game crashing frequently. One player said, “Terrible improvement. The game takes over 8GB of VRAM on medium settings, and 100% CPU usage in the menu. And the temperatures are very high, too. The money will probably be refunded soon.” While another said, “The game crashes a lot. Not playable. Developer Naughty Dog has responded to criticism of The Last of Us Part 1 port for PC Twitter.

Naughty Dog said, “The Last of Us Part I PC players: We’ve heard your concerns, and our team is actively investigating many of the issues you’ve reported. We will continue to keep you posted, but our team prioritizes updates and will address issues in upcoming patches.” Currently, it is not clear when these issues will be fixed. Previous PlayStation PC releases like God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and more were really great, with few performance issues at launch. Since Naughty Dog has assured players that the issues are being investigated, it’s safe to assume that the developer will release a patch to address them.
