Like The Last of Us Part 2, it looks like the first part – being the PS5 remake of the first episode – is getting some annoying leaks. Less extensive, however, since we are talking regarding a few screenshots and a short video.

Attention, spoilers !

It’s all in that title. If you haven’t done the very first The Last of Us and more precisely its famous introduction, we advise you to skip reading the following lines and refer to the second part of the article. For the other curious, you can go there.

It is therefore on the famous ResetEra forum that new images of The Last of Us Part I were disclosed: we can see in particular the new model of Tommy (Joel’s brother), Tess or even a small preview of the military zone at the start of the game. The iconic scene where Joel loses his daughter Sarah, from the start of the game, is also present .

The screenshots broadcast are however in low resolution, namely 640x480p. Comparisons with the original version of the game can be found at this address.

No major gameplay changes in sight?

The leaker claims that the remake “would not include gameplay improvements” and that this would mainly concern animations and audio – information to be taken with a grain of salt since it contradicts the announcements from Sony and Naughty Dog. This redesign would also support VRR and offer two modes, a “gameplay mode” with 4K at 40FPS and a “dynamic mode” with 4K (certainly dynamic) at 60FPS.

Finally, the person behind the leak puts forward the large number of accessibility options, most of which would come from The Last of Us Part II (who had just won an award for that). Another small additional feature: when the player improves his weapon, it would now be visually upgraded.

As a reminder, the second installment of the franchise had also suffered many even more important leaks, whose origin was possibly estimated as coming from a tester from the QA department (for “Quality Assurance”) then at home, since working during confinement.

The Last of Us Part I will be released on PS5 on September 2. A PC version is also planned later, at an undetermined date. Besides, we don’t know if today’s leaks are from a PlayStation 5 or Windows version.
