A developer working on Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 remake of The Last of Us clarifies that it will be The Last of Us Part 1 not just a money-making business.
Too good to be a money grab?
Robert Morrison, who also worked on Resident Evil 7, Injustice 2 and God of War, countered all claims on his Twitter profile that the remake was only being developed to make a quick buck. After all, the digital version of the PS5 remake should cost 79.99 euros.
“It’s just a cash grab”
Actually it’s the most meticulously built and crafted project that I have ever seen or been a part of in my entire career. The highest level of care and attention to detail possible. pic.twitter.com/csjZ3kZMyG

There’s a lot more to The Last of Us Part 1, says Morrison, expanding on his point. In his opinion, one cannot speak of money-making here.
“In reality, it is the most carefully constructed and crafted project I have seen or been involved with in my entire career. The highest level of care and attention to detail possible.”
More on The Last of Us Part 1:
In the comments to this tweet, users react completely differently. Some support the developer, while others contradict him.
However, Morrison is not responsible for the price of the remake, he adds in his tweet – the value is subjective for everyone anyway. “It’s up to you whether you want it or not. I’m just saying I’m in awe of the work that an amazing group of people has done on this project. A tremendous amount of passion has gone into it.”
