The Last of Us Online, the provisional name by which the multiplayer video game being developed by Naughty Dog is known, is not exactly going through easy development. Last week it was reported that the development of the title would be frozen, in addition to the fact that the Californian studio would have dispensed with dozens of employees, something that has made more than one think that the project would have been cancelled. However, until stated otherwise, the game continues, and in fact it was recently discovered that it would have games of up to 40 players.
As discovered on the LinkedIn profile of Ian Blake, former associate game designer at Naughty Dog, the creative was working on an unannounced multiplayer project with support for 40 players. Blake also reportedly worked on several of the multiplayer title’s systems, including setting pieces, as well as fine-tuning the game through regular playtesting and feedback from the QA teams. It should be noted, however, that the profile only refers to a multiplayer game, but it is suspected that it might be the aforementioned The Last of Us multiplayer game.
