The last emergency in 32 years of the band Peregrine Falcon… I feel like I’m back in my 20s

Bae Cheol-soo and Koo Chang-mo’s heyday ‘two top’ match… 1980’s hit songs

“But the time is set, and we’ll get old someday. We can’t catch the passing of time…”
The lyrics of the hit song ‘Gather’ are the same.

Time flew by in a hurry, and the two singers had reached the age of over seventy.

But no matter what, no one might have predicted that it would take decades for them to reunite on stage once more.

This is the story of the legendary rock band Peregrine Falcon of the 1980s.

Peregrine Falcon was formed in 1979 with Bae Cheol-soo, a former rock band runway member.

Three years later, in 1982, the band reached its heyday by recruiting Changmo Koo and Jeongseon Kim from the Hongik University rock band Black Tetra.

Peregrine Falcon was popular as a representative band of the 1980s, producing hit songs such as ‘My Love You Found By Chance’, ‘Rainwater’, ‘Get Together’, and ‘Everyone Loves’.

Released in 1982, the title song of their 2nd album, ‘I Found You By chance’, was a hit, topping KBS’ ‘Gayo Top Ten’ for 5 weeks.

The Peregrine Falcon, however, took a long break in 1990 following the 9th album.

In the same year, leader Bae Chul-soo hosted MBC FM’s ‘Bae Chul-soo’s Music Camp’ and was loved as a national DJ.

However, the Peregrine Falcon flew once more on the 11th as a national tour concert at the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul Olympic Park, which is considered a holy place for K-pop performances, for the first time in 38 years since the ‘two-top system’ of Bae Cheol-soo and Koo Chang-mo, which symbolizes the team’s heyday for 32 years as of their ninth album.

Bae Cheol-soo and Koo Chang-mo, who appeared on the stage in the shape of a large wing that symbolizes a peregrine falcon, opened the door to the performance with the hit songs ‘I stumbled upon you’ and ‘Gather together’.

Bae Cheol-soo appeared on the left and right of the stage in a black leather jacket and Gu Chang-mo wore a white jacket, announcing the team’s revival with a high five.

Both of them stood out wearing jeans, a symbol of youth in the 1980s.

The audience was filled with nearly 10,000 spectators from 20s and 30s to gray-haired seniors, and female fans in their 50s and 60s waved luminous light sticks that read ‘Peregrine Falcon’, forgetting the followingmath of the holidays and returned to the girl fans.

Goo Chang-mo showed off her unique beauty and clear vocals that did not fade over time, and pulled out the high notes.

He had a thin smile all the time, and when he was hitting the beat with his feet, he closed his eyes tightly and put a thread around his neck when he made a high note.

Bae Cheol-soo guided the audience into the memories of the 1980s with a husky yet playful voice.

They poured out hit songs that embroidered the 1980s, such as ‘I didn’t know the world’, ‘Everything in the world’, ‘I loved you from the beginning’, and ‘Rainwater’.

Gu Chang-mo mightn’t hide his unadorned happy smile throughout the performance, perhaps because of the emotion of being able to work together on stage for the first time in 38 years.

He said, “I’m so excited right now that I’m losing weight.

We are grateful that so many people welcomed and supported us even though it was raining today.

I never dreamed that we would be able to stand on such a big stage as well,” he said.

Bae Cheol-soo has been active as a radio DJ for over 30 years.

Bae Cheol-soo said, “I’m not sure if it’s a dream or if it’s real,” and “What is certain is that I changed my hair style on stage today and wore a guitar, so I feel like I’m back in my 20s.”

He also said, “At that time (late 1970s to early 1980s) long hair was popular.

If I hadn’t grown my hair back then, I wouldn’t have been a Korean man,” he recalled.

On the same day, he also took up the story of an electric shock accident on KBS’ ‘March of Youth’ in 1983, which is said to be one of the worst accidents in domestic broadcasting history.

“I was regarding to grab the mic to sing, but then someone twisted the mic.

Since I have a straight personality, I got an electric shock when I grabbed something I might just sing. Then it was going to be a really big deal.

If I had gone back then (if I had died), today’s performance would not have been possible.

In the meantime, before singing ‘You Are Me’, the song he was going to sing at the time of the accident 39 years ago, he introduced it as “a song that has a very deep connection to me” and looked back, saying, “I haven’t seen the video of him for more than 10 years.”

In this performance, we were able to listen to the two solo hit songs such as Bae Chul-soo’s ‘Love, Those Beautiful and Precious Stories’ and Gu Chang-mo’s ‘Wandering’ and ‘Henari’.

The ‘Lonely Wildflower’ stage sung by Peregrine Falcon’s bassist Lee Tae-yoon added a special touch.

The peregrine falcon finished the performance with the encore songs of the hit songs ‘I stumbled upon you’ and ‘Everyone will love you’.

They will continue their nationwide tour in Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Incheon.

This concert is effectively the band’s last ’emergency’ since Bae Cheol-su, the frontman and ‘landlord’ of the Falcon, declared that he would not do any more music on this tour.

Kim Gun (59), who visited the concert hall with his wife in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, said, “When I was in my twenties, peregrine falcons were the coolest people living in Korea.” bought a year

Before I die following seeing a peregrine falcon, it has become my dream to learn and play an instrument.”

“Among Korean rock concerts, do you think today’s audience is the highest? Haha.” (Bae Cheol-soo)
