The Lahore High Court has ordered the release of PTI President Pervaiz Elahi

The Lahore High Court ordered the release of Parvez Elahi. Lahore High Court heard the petition filed against the arrest of Parvez Elahi in NAB. Justice Amjad Rafique heard the petition of Pervez Elahi.

During the hearing, Justice Amjad Rafiq said that there will be an inquiry on the arrest of Parvez Elahi, when the decision of the two-member bench was reached, then why was the physical remand extended? Lawyer Pervaiz Elahi requested the court that there is a lot of crowd outside the High Court, there is fear that the police will arrest them.

Justice Amjad Rafiq replied that we have said that we will not arrest in any case, I am also ordering the rest. Parvez Elahi had challenged the NAB arrest in the High Court. The court had ordered Parvez Elahi to appear before the court at ten o’clock.

NAB Lahore had written a letter to IG Punjab and others for Parvaizalhi’s security.

Earlier, a hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the petition filed against the arrest of former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi by NAB. Justice Amjad Rafiq heard the request of Pervaiz Elahi.

During the hearing, the NAB prosecutor said that time should be given for a detailed response to the request of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Justice Amjad Rafique remarked that it is fine, then we order Parvez Elahi to be deported.

The court told the NAB officials that you should request the Chief Justice that this request be fixed for hearing before a 2-member bench. Is the arrest of the former Chief Minister of Punjab in accordance with the law?, all the questions are to be answered in your reports.

The NAB prosecutor argued that the single bench did not give a direction not to arrest Parvaiz Elahi.

The Prosecutor General said that it is in the decisions of the Supreme Court that a two-member bench can hear the cases of NAB, a single bench cannot hear the cases of NAB, it is the work of the subordinate courts to implement the decisions of the Supreme Court. Give respite, we will submit a full detailed report to the court.

The NAB prosecutor objected to the appearance of Amjad Parvez on behalf of Parvez Elahi and said that Amjad Parvez does not have a power of attorney in this case.

The court remarked that it seems like this is a personal matter of yours. The NAB prosecutor said that Amjad Parvez himself is the special prosecutor of NAB, how can he appear?

Amjad Pervez said that I represent NAB only in specific cases. Justice Amjad Rafiq said you should start the arguments, the court is giving permission, if you want me not to hear this case, then apply to the Chief Justice.

Justice Amjad Rafiq remarked that the arrest of Parvez Elahi is in accordance with the law, when the two-member bench restored the decision of the single bench, then the decision of the single bench is upheld, the law is very clear in this regard, we have to decide now. Parvez Elahi’s arrest is legal or illegal.

Lahore High Court ordered to present former Chief Minister Punjab and PTI leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in court at 2 pm, however NAB decided not to present Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in court.

It should be noted that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has requested NAB to declare his arrest as illegal.

– What legal precedents might influence the Lahore High Court’s ruling in Parvez Elahi’s case?

**Interview with Legal Analyst on the Release of Parvez‌ Elahi**

**Interviewer:** Thank you⁤ for joining us today. We have significant‌ news regarding former Chief Minister Parvez Elahi, whose release was⁢ ordered by the Lahore High Court following his arrest by⁣ the NAB. Can ⁤you provide us ⁤with an overview of what led to this court ruling?

**Legal Analyst:** Absolutely, and thank you for ⁢having me. The Lahore High Court, under the jurisdiction ‌of ⁣Justice Amjad Rafique, heard a petition⁣ filed by Parvez Elahi challenging his arrest by the National‌ Accountability Bureau (NAB). The‍ court expressed concerns over‍ the justification‌ for extending his physical remand when the two-member bench had supposedly reached a decision earlier that should have influenced his detention. Justice Rafique stressed the ‍importance of ensuring that‍ due process is followed and ⁤instructed the NAB officials to clarify the legality of the arrest in future hearings [[1](https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1207634-authorities-directed-to-strike-off-pti-president-parvez-elahis-name-from-pcl)].

**Interviewer:** During the hearings, there was significant concern about the‍ security of Elahi and his supporters outside the court. How did the⁤ court ‌address these fears?

**Legal Analyst:** That’s correct. Elahi’s ⁣legal‌ team brought up the issue of a crowd gathering outside ⁤the court, raising the risk of arrest⁢ by the police. In ‍response, Justice Rafique assured all parties ‍that there would⁢ be no arrests⁢ made during this process. His ⁣remarks indicate a commitment to respecting the legal rights of Elahi while ‌also‍ ensuring safety for all involved during‍ this tumultuous time [[1](https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1207634-authorities-directed-to-strike-off-pti-president-parvez-elahis-name-from-pcl)].

**Interviewer:** The ‌NAB had mentioned needing more time to respond to Elahi’s requests. How does this reflect on the NAB’s position in ‌this case?

**Legal Analyst:** ⁢The NAB’s insistence on needing additional time for a detailed response suggests they may ‍not have been entirely prepared for the legal challenges posed by Elahi’s team. Justice Rafique’s decision to possibly schedule this case before a two-member bench indicates that the court is taking⁢ the allegations of improper arrest seriously and⁣ is pushing for clarity and accountability from the NAB regarding their procedures [[1](https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1207634-authorities-directed-to-strike-off-pti-president-parvez-elahis-name-from-pcl)].

**Interviewer:** What implications does this⁢ ruling ⁢have for Parvez Elahi and his political future?

**Legal Analyst:** This ruling is certainly a significant win for Elahi and could potentially bolster his political standing, especially within his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). It illustrates ‌that the judiciary is taking steps to scrutinize the actions of agencies like the NAB, which can have broader implications for how such ⁤agencies operate in politically sensitive cases. If Elahi can ⁤leverage this legal victory, it might enhance his credibility among ‌supporters who view this ‌as ⁤a fight against political victimization [[1](https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1207634-authorities-directed-to-strike-off-pti-president-parvez-elahis-name-from-pcl)].

**Interviewer:** Thank you for your insights. This case will undoubtedly continue to unfold in the public eye, and we appreciate your expertise on the ‌matter.

**Legal ‌Analyst:** Thank you for having me. It‍ will be interesting‌ to see how this case progresses and what it means for the⁣ broader political landscape in Pakistan.
