The “La Marche Verte” aerobatic patrol causes a sensation in Toulouse

The prestigious aerobatic patrol “La Marche Verte” delivered an exceptional performance rich in sensations, on the occasion of the fourth edition of the air show “Des Étoiles et des Ailes” in Toulouse, held last weekend at Francazal airport. . Aboard 8 Cap 232 planes, the military airmen of the patrol held thousands of spectators of this air show in suspense with unique tricks in the world, including take-off with planes attached by ropes which they then detach in flight when changing training. They are also the only ones to perform the “mirror” loop, performed by two planes facing each other, one in normal flight and the other on its back. The participation of the Moroccan aerobatic patrol in one of the biggest air shows in France was a “real success”, said the Consul General of Morocco in Toulouse, Nadya Talmi, in a press release. The Moroccan aerobatic team dazzled the Toulouse sky during this “exceptional and thrilling” edition, giving emotions and thrills to the French public, who never ceased to applaud each of their prowess and dizzying acrobatics.

The demonstration of the Moroccan patrol was of a very high level, a source of pride for the Moroccans residing in France, many of whom came to attend this Meeting, she added. For Ms. Talmi, Morocco’s presence at this major event testifies, once once more, “to the high level and quality of Moroccan-French relations”. Created in 1984 by order of the late SM Hassan II, the Moroccan aerobatic team illustrates by its name a glorious stage in the history of the Kingdom, that of the Green March in the Moroccan Sahara on November 6, 1975. It is equipped with pilots from hunting volunteers, who have undergone rigorous training.

Internationally renowned, the patrol has taken part in several air shows abroad and won distinctions, including the first prize in a patrol competition in 2005 in the United Arab Emirates. This major aerial meeting was organized by the Association of Stars and Wings, created in 2010, in partnership with EDEIS, manager of the Toulouse Francazal and Toulouse Métropole platform. During these two festive days, more than 30,000 spectators attended the flight demonstrations, carried out by more than a hundred legendary aircraft, as well as the static display of aircraft such as Dassault Falcon-100, Rutan Varieze, UTA-66 or the ATR 42 Safire.
