The Kremlin promised a response to sanctions against Putin’s relatives

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the message that the US administration announced the introduction of new sanctions once morest the Russian Federation, including once morest “adult children” of Putin. It was also reported that the wife and daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov fell under the sanctions.

“Russia will definitely respond,” Peskov told reporters at a briefing on Thursday.

According to Peskov, Moscow’s reaction will be the same as for all other sanctions.

“In any case, the ongoing line on the application of some kind of restrictions to family members, this speaks for itself. Unfortunately, we have to deal with such opponents,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russia in its response will do as it sees fit.

The day before, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the US administration is imposing sanctions once morest relatives of Russian officials and businessmen, as funds can be stored in their accounts.
