The “Knight of the Golden Curve” award goes to culture nurturer Virgina Asnauskien Culture

Virgina Asnauskienė is worthy of the culture of Klaipėda district with her ideas and initiatives, her creative spirit has been inspiring not only Dreverna, but also other communities of Klaipėda district for many years. The culturist not only shapes the cultural needs of the community, but also mobilizes the Dreverna community for active activities, organizes regional ethnic culture festivals, events, exhibitions, and makes the Klaipėda region famous in Lithuania and beyond.

The creator has won many awards and thanks, she was chosen for the first time in 2023. the winner of the Culture and Art Worker of the Year Award established by Klaipėda District Municipality.

V. Asnauskienė also initiates and implements international and local projects, organizes cultural expeditions, during which she has immortalized the collected material and memories of local residents in video and audio media and publications, thus ensuring the vitality of old traditions and their transmission to future generations.

V. Asnauskienė devotes a lot of attention to nurturing the traditions of the region of Little Lithuania and spreading the dialect of Lithuanians. For many years, the woman has led the “Žvejytės” ensemble, which represents the peculiarities of the life, traditions and dialect of Pomeranian fishermen, and also actively participates in the activities of the folklore collective “Vėlingis” of the Priekulė Art and Culture Center, representing the region not only in Song Festivals, festivals, but also in Europiados.

V. Asnauskienė is also an active public figure, since 2020. – Member of the Cultural Council of the Klaipėda District Municipality, who contributed to the cultural strategy of the Klaipėda District Municipality until 2030. and preparation of other documents of strategic importance. Since 2017 – Member of the Pomeranian cluster “Žuvies kelias”, organizing educational programs presenting the region for guests of the district.

“The Knight of the Golden Curve award is given to only three nominees every year, so the competition in this category is really high. We are happy and proud to bring this award to Virgina. Thanks to the community of Dreverna and Virgina Asnauskienė, Dreverna has also been awarded the title of 2025 small culture capital. We sincerely congratulate you on the award and thank you for your great contribution to the cultural life of the district,” says Klaipėda District Mayor Bronius Markauskas.
