The Lebanese Center for Specialized Education (CLES) has chosen music as the title of its annual celebration (10-10-DYS) to raise awareness regarding specific learning difficulties, by supporting Lebanese talent through the “Let’s Music” competition in collaboration with “VRL”, given the power of music as a global language that stimulates On inspiration, creativity and hope, it spreads joy and raises awareness regarding educational issues.
The celebration, which was held in downtown Beirut, on the evening of Monday, October 10, in the presence of education specialists, the “CLES” team, friends and finalists, included the distribution of “Let’s Music” awards, divided into five categories.
The winners are: Adriana Diab in the Arabic singing category, Shaden Farhat in the English singing category, pianist Mark Hanania in the piano and keyboard category, violinist Gayel Imad in the stringed category, and drummer Christine Bejani in the percussion category. .
The winners presented wonderful musical and lyrical links, with which the audience interacted. Then, she presented a series of awareness videos regarding the center, learning difficulties, and the path of the let’s Music initiative.
Carmen Debbane: In music there is unity, inspiration and hope
The founder of CLES, Mrs. Carmen Chahine Debbaneh, gave a speech for the occasion, in which she stressed the importance of the impact of art on children, especially those with specific learning difficulties, and how it contributes to promoting awareness and education. Debbane considers that the field of education is not limited to school and academic education, but studies have proven that it is effective. More effective through art, play and skill acquisition.
She said, “Today, we celebrate music because it makes us happy when we are sad, it instills hope in our despair, it relieves our pain when we are sad, and it also enhances communication with the other.”
She added: “On this occasion, we must assure that Klee will take care of children with specific educational difficulties, but the path of learning and education is inseparable from the children’s living, social and psychological reality, and Klees is interested in the child living with respect and human generosity, in good mental health and a good mood, so Markaz cares regarding all these aspects. Through the “Care by CLES” initiative, especially following the economic crisis that befell Lebanon and following we felt a need for food and humanitarian support for the families of the Claes children and others, whose number reached 35,000 people, and we are working today to help 40,000 people.”
