The king’s choice to launch the year 2024 at the Pertuis maternity ward

All year long, there will have been numerous births at the Catherine Baret maternity ward in Pertuis. In 2023, once more, 691 births were recorded as of December 31, 2023.

However, as the full moon was absent for New Year’s Eve, the atmosphere was peaceful in the corridors for the on-call team who only took care of two births on this first day of the new year: the first, early in the morning, and the second, late in the evening. They were two reckless people who fought, with a lot of energy, to become the first babies of 2024, in Pertuis: a little girl and a little boy. The king’s choice!

A little boy who hesitated for a long time

In order of arrival, it was Ambre Guistetto-Verdier, impatient to meet her mother, her father, her big sister Elena, 15 years old, and her big brother Léo, 8 years old – residents of Peyrolles -, who decided to arrive at 7:39 a.m. on January 1, 2024. The young mother confided that she herself was born “here, in this maternity ward“. “We are delighted to give birth to our baby girl here. We had very good relationships with all the maternity teams, which is extraordinary!

The second baby who decided to join the first born, in Pertuis, is named Lyo Collet-Desmier. The little boy hesitated for a long time but finally arrived, almost too late for New Year’s Eve, at 10:30 p.m. He made his mom, his dad, and his 8-year-old little sister happy, Emma – all three residents of Pertuis.

His parents enthusiastically emphasized that “this motherhood is great“. “The accompaniment was perfect. We had very good feedback.

On this happy occasion, La Provence sends all its congratulations and wishes for happiness, prosperity and health to Ambre and Lyo, as well as to their parents and their families. Congratulations to the maternity team and a happy new year to everyone!
