The king of the CHIP leaderboard: The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is convincing across the board

In the test, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max shows a very good display, top performance and a long battery life. Apple has also given its new flagship a 48 megapixel sensor for the main camera. The front camera has also received a small update – an autofocus. So the already good iPhone selfies are even better.

Apple’s new A16 Bionic chipset ensures excellent performance, which, together with six GB of RAM, is easily sufficient for all everyday apps and applications – and of course for every current triple AAA smartphone game on maximum graphics settings.

The once once more outstanding battery life is remarkable. The 4,323 mAh battery easily lasts several days – with everyday use. However, extreme social media and video consumption as well as intense gaming sessions can shorten the runtime.

In a direct comparison, the daylight photos taken with the main camera in “Standard mode” are almost identical to those of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The measurements in the laboratory also do not show any significant improvements in photo quality. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max once more takes pictures with very balanced dynamics, as long as the differences in brightness are not too extreme. The new main camera shows its strengths especially in the ProRAW format.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max also boasts a redesigned notch. The small black bar that houses the front camera and the FaceID sensors has moved a little more into the display. Players, for example, can be controlled as a “Dynamic Island” or directions from Apple Maps are displayed. A clever idea and also quite practical in some cases – especially if you use music apps or navigation services.
