Jordan – King Abdullah II of Jordan, during discussions with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, warned of the danger of the recent escalation that might push the region into a state of insecurity and instability.

During discussions with the Emir of Kuwait, which were held at Basman Al-Zaher Palace yesterday, Tuesday, and dealt with current developments, King Abdullah II reiterated the need to intensify efforts to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and to unify Arab efforts to confront the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.

The King stressed the need to find a political horizon for the Palestinian issue on the basis of a two-state solution that ensures that the Palestinians obtain all their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Jordanian King appreciated Kuwait’s wise stances towards Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian issue, its support for the Palestinians, and its constant endeavor to achieve security and stability in the region.

Petra Agency reported that the Jordanian King and the Emir of Kuwait affirmed their pride in the level of established historical relations between the two countries and peoples.

It was reported that the two leaders stressed during the discussions the importance of expanding opportunities for bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially at the economic and investment levels.

The King expressed his welcome to Sheikh Meshaal’s first visit to Jordan following assuming his position as Emir of the State of Kuwait.
