Six balloons “with corner reflectors” and reconnaissance equipment were found in the sky over Kiev. Air defense systems worked on balloons, most were shot down. According to the Kyiv administration, the balls were launched by Russia.
“Preliminarily, regarding six enemy air targets were detected in the airspace of Kyiv. According to updated information, these were balloons that move in space under the influence of the wind. These objects might carry corner reflectors and certain reconnaissance equipment. Air defense systems worked on all air targets. Most of the probes were shot down, ”the Kyiv administration said in a statement. Telegram.
The Kyiv administration promised to draw final conclusions regarding the origin of these objects following a detailed study of the wreckage of downed balloons.
Yesterday, February 14, Yuriy Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command, reported the discovery of balloons “with corner reflectors” in Ukrainian airspace to distract air defense systems. According to him, such balloons were also found in the sky over Ukraine on February 12.
For several weeks, unidentified lethal objects were shot down in several countries: 4 objects were found in the United States (one of them was a Chinese balloon), one object each – in Canada and in Moldova. Chinese authorities claim that several similar objects were shot down in Chinese airspace.
