Manama: The Kerala Football Association Bahrain (KFA)’s Super Cup 2022 mega football tournament will be held on Thursday. The tournament will be held on May 19,20,26,27 and June 2,3,9,10 at the ground behind the Gosi Complex in Hoora.
There will be 8 teams in the professional category, 16 teams in the semi-professional category and 32 teams in the amateur category. The matches are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, organizers said.
The Kerala Football Association Bahrain is an organization formed to promote sports among the Malayalee expats in Bahrain. The association, which started as 20 clubs in 2019, now has 54 clubs and 1,200 players. Officials said that 23 small and large tournaments have been organized in a short span of time.
KFA office bearers President Obaid Poomangalam, Vice. Presidents Mohammad Rafique, General Secretary Krishna Das, Treasurer Tasleem Thennadan, Joint Secretaries Abdul Jalil and Arun Sarath, Membership Coordinators Sajjad Sulaiman and Sawad Thalappacheri were present at the press conference.
