Lhe grand prize of this festival organized from May 28 to June 4 will bear the name of Ousmane Sembene and that of the director, the name of Idrissa Ouédraogo, underlined the FICAK in a press release sent to MAP.

The Screenplay Prize will bear the name of Samir Farid while that of the best female role will pay tribute to the late Amina Rachid. The prize for best male role will bear the name of the late Mohamed Bastaoui.

In the documentary film competition, the grand prize will pay tribute to Tunisian producer Najib Ayyed while the Jury Prize will be baptized in the name of Beninese director Paulin Soumanou Vieyra, according to the press release.

Burkinabé cinema is the guest of honor at this 22nd edition of FICAK, which will see the screening of five films by renowned Burkinabé filmmakers. During this edition of FICAK, 13 feature films will be in the official competition (Fiction Selection) and 7 films will compete in the Documentary Films category.
