The documentary film festival is reborn in the Jura. Following the canton’s call for tenders, the Galactica Production association was created and relaunched this cross-border festival which has existed for 15 years. She presented the program this Friday. The Jura and Territoire de Belfort Doc Month will take place from November 4 to 28. In addition to classic screenings in dark rooms, the festival will offer a unique immersive side. Indeed, visitors will be able, among other things, to discover documentaries screened at the Raiffeisen Arena in Porrentruy, at the Place d’Armes in Bure or at the Tonnebière brewery in St-Ursanne.
The president of the Galactica Production association emphasizes that the documentaries proposed are linked to the places in which they are screened. Logistically speaking, Sylvie André explains that for certain places, such as the Raiffeisen Arena, the infrastructures are already on site, which is not the case for other places, such as for example the greenhouse of the Jurassica Museum in Porrentruy where the equipment will have to be brought.
The program promises to be colorful and varied. In addition to screenings in cinemas and in unusual places, there will be three sofa evenings during which six short films will be offered in private homes. Also worth noting is the Dokidok which consists of making a documentary of around fifteen minutes on St. Martin’s Day in 48 hours flat. This creative challenge is aimed at young people aged 14 to 17 as well as young migrants.
Sylvie André highlights the three missions of Doc Month, namely bringing the public together, encouraging creation and including everyone, while showing solidarity. The president of the association which is relaunching the festival in the Jura notes that a VIP program will be dedicated to seniors.
