Liverpool star, Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, said that his team deserved to win the Champions League final, stressing that he hopes to repeat the achievement of African George Weah and win the award for the best player in the world.

Salah stated in a lengthy interview with the magazine:France FootballIn it, he revealed some secrets of his home, that Liverpool “deserved to win, and we had more chances,” adding that he got “two or three clear chances, but Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid goalkeeper) saved it incredibly.”

Salah also discussed his football style, noting that he relies on meditation as a main tool to help him stay focused.

“I try to meditate every day for 10 or 20 minutes at home alone,” said Salah, who has converted his home into a health center.

And the Egyptian star added that it can be said that his house “is like a hospital, although my wife does not like it,” noting that “two rooms in the house have been allocated to various fitness machines and bodybuilding.”

Salah confirmed that his wife says, “I spend more time with my devices than I do with them.”

He also indicated that he goes to training very early and leaves late: “If the training is scheduled for three in the followingnoon, I arrive two or three hours earlier and leave following an hour and a half.”

Salah also talked regarding his strict diet, and how he strives to eat healthy food despite his love for burgers.

“I always love broccoli, sweet potatoes, fish, chicken and salad,” Salah said. “And when I go to a big restaurant in London, I prefer sushi.”

He confirmed that he eats pizza once a month at most, and he also loves burgers, “but I rarely eat them because I feel heavy following that.”

Al-Masry also explained why he is constantly striving to improve and how he wants to spread fear among the competing defenders for seasons to come, and said, “Like others, I want to be the best player in the world.”

Al-Masry also expressed his desire to win the Ballon d’Or and become the first African since George Weah to do so.

“I want to win it to join George Weah, the only African,” Salah said. “Let’s wait for the vote. If I don’t get it in 2022, I will do everything in my power to win it next season.”

On Thursday, Mohamed Salah won the Player of the Year award in England presented by the Professional Footballers Association for the second time in his career.
