At the 82nd minute of the match of the 22nd round of the championship of Russia “Orenburg” – “Rostov” (2: 2) on the field following the stoppage of the game, a conflict arose between the referee Roman Safyan and the captain of the Rostovites Khoren Bayramyan.

The referee took out a yellow card and was regarding to show it to the guests’ midfielder, but before that he began to suggest to the player, came close to him and touched him with his hand. Bayramyan answered something to Safyan and hit him on the arm, throwing it away.

Orenburg – Rostov.

Orenburg – Rostov.

Orenburg – Rostov.

The referee then limited himself to showing one yellow card. Although in such a situation it was already necessary to remove the player from the field. But Safyan, apparently, understood that he himself unwittingly provoked Bayramyan and did not apply a more serious disciplinary sanction.

It should be noted that the inexperienced referee, who made his RPL debut on Monday, has good potential. He is noticeably better than some of his colleagues. But he was appointed in vain to the game with the participation of “Rostov” – a team claiming a place in the top three. It is clear that from time to time tension made itself felt.

Hence, perhaps, the vague explanation for the cancellation of the third goal of Orenburg. Hence the conflict with the head coach of “Rostov” Valery Karpin, who, following the match in a flash interview, apparently misinterpreted the words of the referee. I don’t think that Safyan told the coach regarding the possibility of handballing the ball in attack. Most likely, in a fever, Karpin misunderstood the referee.
