The penquista pilot Jorge Martínez returned to shine in his land: since 2008 he has not won a date of the Mobil Rally in Bío Bío.

The athlete from the CBTech Rally by Skoda team was the fastest in the competition, valid for the first date of the most important motor championship in our country.
“I’m very excited because since 2008 I haven’t won a championship date at home”expressed the ‘Wonder Boy’ following his victory in the RC2 Pro, the main category.
Martinez looked very pleased. In large part, as he explained, because winning the event “makes even more sense since he was tremendously competitive.”
“It was a long, complicated and very technical race, but I am very grateful to the whole team, to my navigator Alberto Álvarez and especially to the mechanics who did a great job”, he added.
Jorge Martínez celebrated that “together we worked in a great way and we pulled it off in a great way… so I’m very happy, it’s a victory with a very special flavor”.
Luis Martínez champion in RC4: “Happy to start the year like this”
In RC4, meanwhile, Luis Martínez and Juan Cruz Varela displayed all their international experience aboard the Opel Corsa Rally4.
Some riders put up an interesting fight, but the European remained constant leading the three days, even avoiding minor damage that did not cost him so many seconds of difference with his pursuers.
“I am very happy, it was a very tough rally, a lot of work was done on the tire strategy and where to accelerate and go flat out and where not to“, affirmed the Spaniard.
“Today we made a couple of mistakes like a puncture and a bad start that cost us the stage, but we’re still happy, because it’s not every day you win a rally in such a competitive category. Happy to start the year like this and now it’s time to celebrate with the team that gives everything so we can enjoy this car”, added Martínez.
For their part, Tadeo Rosselot and Sebastián Olguín were also winners in the R3 class.
Note that the Mobil Rally will have its second date between May 6 and 8.
