Tell me – The Jordanian film Al-Hara, the Circle, which is set in a neighborhood ruled by gossip and violence in the east of the capital, Amman, has sparked a lot of controversy because it contains obscene words.
The social media platforms were buzzing with discussing the content of the film and the message to be conveyed from it, between a supporter who believes that it is inspired by reality, and an opponent who sees it as a reason to take a false idea regarding Jordanian society.
The Jordanian film “Al-Hara”, directed by Basil Ghandour, launched its commercial shows in local theaters and in two Arab international countries, last June 2022.
The film received support from the Jordan Film Fund of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, the Doha Film Institute (Qatar), and the Red Sea Film Festival Film Development Laboratory (Saudi Arabia).
The atmosphere of crime and mystery dominates the teaser, which included most of the film’s heroes. The night atmosphere is present throughout the advertisement, which highlighted the use of white and firearms, chases and romantic relationships.
And the movie Al-Hara, written and directed by Basil Ghandour, starring Emad Azmy, Baraka Rahmani, Munther Rayahneh, Maysa Abdel Hadi, Nadira Omran and Nadim Rimawi.
And the Jordanian movie “Al-Hara” began showing on the Netflix platform, starting from January 5.
