A compact electric scooter with a replaceable battery can easily be transformed into a suitcase – it is convenient to carry in your hands.

Japanese brand Shimizu introduced Arma folding electric scooter. It can be folded into a small briefcase weighing only 4.5 kg. A convenient feature for those who often have to combine trips on a scooter and public transport.

The electric scooter is equipped with a replaceable battery. Located in the central part of the body, it powers a 250 W motor and allows the vehicle to cover 11-14 km in one trip with a maximum speed of 24 km/h. It can be charged via USB-C in two hours.

Unlike the classic single-hinge folding mechanism, Arma uses multiple hinges. Each of the two footrests wraps around the rear wheel to form the bottom half of the packed suitcase. It covers the folded front wheel. The steering wheel folds in three and becomes the top part of the packed case.

The process of transforming an electric scooter into a briefcase is clearly shown in the video. Watch how it all happens:

When packed, Arma is very compact, measuring 210 x 297 x 96 mm. The electric scooter’s steering wheel has acceleration and brake buttons, as well as a central display that displays information regarding speed and battery life. The device is designed for a driver weighing up to 100 kg.

What is the price

Fundraising has already been launched on Kickstarter platform. The early price for Arma with one battery included is 135,000 yen (81,000 rubles). The first orders will begin to be delivered in July 2024.

Earlier in Russia they tested a scooter controlled by the power of thought. Tests of the miracle technology were shown on video.
