The Japanese company made this announcement in a press release published this Wednesday on its website and relayed by BFMTV. “Thanks to the support of PlayStation fans around the world, the PS5 console has seen strong momentum this year,” commented Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The 2022-2023 fiscal year was particularly good for the company, with 19 million units of its flagship games console sold over the period. Sony said it had the “best month of November in terms of Playstation sales”. Since last July, 10 million copies have been sold. The good results can be explained in particular by two elements.

Christmas shopping stimulates sales and Sony can rely on good stocks. “We’re thrilled that this is the first holiday season since launch where we have a full supply of PS5 consoles – so anyone who wants one can have one,” the company said.
