Asunción, IP Agency.- The IV Latin American Games of Special Olympics Asunción 2024 will begin with an exciting opening ceremony at the Ueno La Nueva Olla Stadium, this Friday, October 4, from 7:00 p.m.
This event will mark the beginning of a week full of inclusion and high-level sporting competition; having the Paraguayan capital as the epicenter of all activities.
The IV Latin American Games of Special Olympics Asunción 2024 promise to be an unforgettable event, promoting the message of inclusion and respect through sport.
More than 1000 Latin American athletes
Starting on Saturday, October 5, 1,090 athletes from across the region will compete in 13 sports and 14 modalities, accompanied by more than 600 families who will be present to support them.
The event will have the collaboration of more than 2,000 volunteers and the participation of more than 300 judges and officials, who will ensure that all competitions are carried out with excellence and professionalism.
The games, which will run until October 12, will not only include sporting competitions, but also a series of parallel events, both competitive and non-competitive, aimed at promoting inclusion and diversity.
The competitions will take place in three main venues:
- Olympic Park, where Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Futsal, Hockey and Bocce will be played.
- National Sports Secretariat, which will host the disciplines of Badminton, 3×3 Basketball, Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics, Power Lifting, Tennis, Table Tennis and Taekwondo as an exhibition sport.
- National Aquatic Center, headquarters of the Swimming and Triathlon competitions.
A large influx of people is expected at each of the venues, where spectators will be able to enjoy the excitement and sporting spirit of the Games.
