The issue of the cessation of the disbursement of support to some families reached the floor of Parliament once morest the backdrop of the written question addressed by the head of the Parliamentary Group for Justice and Development, Abdullah Buwano, to the government regarding the demand to reveal the urgent measures that it will take in order to address the cessation of the disbursement of direct financial social support for the benefit of some groups.

In the question he addressed to the Minister of Economy and Finance, Buano confirmed that many families were surprised by the cessation of benefiting from direct private financial social support, which they had been impatiently waiting for to cover part of the expenses and requirements of daily life, in light of the wave of extreme high prices, without revealing the real reasons for that. He added that the responsible authorities did not provide convincing and acceptable explanations regarding the criteria that made the unified social registry indicators rise in a short period not exceeding weeks, and that the limited benefit from a “small” monthly amount, in most cases not exceeding 500 dirhams for three months, is Totally insufficient time to evaluate the progress of the beneficiaries’ standard of living and the improvement of their purchasing power.

Buano added that the indicators adopted in calculating the social index for beneficiaries lack accuracy, and do not take into account the development of the economic, social and cultural situation of our country, because ownership of some items no longer constitutes an element of distinction between the needy and others, and does not constitute added value, especially when it comes to some means and services. Which has become accessible to most segments of society due to competition and the low prices of some of them.

In this context, Buano asked the Minister regarding the urgent measures that the government will take in order to address this situation, taking into account the circumstances of this category of beneficiaries, and without waiting for the program to achieve its noble goals, which are the generalization of the social protection project and the consolidation of the foundations of the social state.
