The security services of the Israeli occupation forces are continuing a massive combing campaign, in search of the Palestinian youth suspected of carrying out the attack on the military checkpoint at the entrance to Shuafat refugee camp in Jerusalem last night.

A female soldier in the Israeli occupation army was killed at dawn today, Sunday, from wounds sustained in the armed attack, in which two other soldiers were also wounded. According to Israeli medical sources, all the injuries were serious.

According to the results of the initial investigations by the Israeli police, the fire was fired from inside a car as well as from a person who got off in the area, and the attackers managed to escape.

This operation comes in light of the “Operation Breaking Waves” launched by the occupation army in the past months to pursue those suspected of involvement in activities once morest the occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Jerusalem said that the Israeli radio quoted security authorities as saying that they had identified the identity and details of the perpetrator, and believed that he was hiding in the Shuafat camp or the nearby town of Anata, and indicated that the occupation forces had struck a military cordon around the two towns.

The Hebrew newspaper Maarif reported that Israeli Minister of Internal Security Omer Bar-Lev commented on the attack, saying, “The vehicle continued moving until the driver left it, and the gunman fled to the other side, an area very close to the Shuafat refugee camp, where he apparently fled to his place of residence.” .

Bar-Lev said that the army “besieged the Shuafat camp, and there is an Israeli army besieging the camp at a greater distance, and there is an operation with the participation of the Shin Bet and the police, and I think they will arrest the attacker, as they arrested his three accomplices.”

The Israeli minister added, “It may take hours or days, but we will arrest him. This is not the first time that perpetrators of attacks have come out of East Jerusalem, and this incident is very difficult. I hope that the fourth partner will be arrested.”
