Al-Arabiya correspondent reported that the Israeli army launched intensive raids on various areas of Gaza, while warning sirens sounded in the settlements bordering the Gaza Strip.

Israeli fighters launched a series of raids on targets in the Gaza Strip from midnight Thursday to Friday, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources, following the launch of a barrage of rockets from Lebanon, in an attack that Israel attributed to Palestinian activists.

The Israeli Army Radio reported that its forces attacked Hamas weapons production sites in Gaza.

A Palestinian security source said, “The occupation warplanes launched a series of raids on several training sites belonging to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades (the armed wing of Hamas) in separate areas in the Gaza Strip.” Agence France-Presse correspondents heard the sound of huge explosions in Gaza, while the Israeli fighter jets resounded as they flew over the Strip.

In a statement, the Israeli army confirmed the start of its air force raids on the Strip.

And the Lebanese Army Command announced, on Twitter, on Thursday, that an army unit had found missile launchers and a number of missiles intended for launch in the vicinity of the towns of Zibqine and Qalila, and work is underway to dismantle them.

Simultaneously, an Israeli military spokesman confirmed on Twitter that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was responsible for the missile attacks launched from Lebanon on Thursday, according to Archyde.com.

He added that Israel holds the Lebanese government responsible for the missiles launched from its territory.

The Israeli spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said, “The party that fired the rockets from Lebanon is Hamas in Lebanon.”

Earlier, the Israeli army spokesman confirmed that its air defenses had intercepted 25 of the 34 missiles launched from Lebanon towards Israel.
