The Isle-aux-Coudres pharmacy was bought by Dominic Dorion and it will change banner

Dominic Dorion is the new owner of the Isle-aux-Coudres pharmacy. The banner will change to Familiprix. The transition should take place within three to six months.

This is the third pharmacy for Mr. Dorion, who is 32 years old. “Our goal is to keep the human side of pharmacy. The social aspect that I found in L’Isle-aux-Coudres joined me. I bought my first pharmacy at the age of 25 in Gaspésie. I bought a second one two years ago. I already have experience in this area. There are many things that can be transposed, but we want to give ourselves time to adapt,” underlines Mr. Dorion.

The six employees will keep their jobs. All services will also be retained and even enhanced.

“We want to offer vaccination once morest COVID-19 and influenza, especially for the islanders. We are a front line service. We will also be open on Saturday. We will start with two hours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We understand that it’s not easy for people who work to come during the week since it’s open from 10 am to 4:45 pm,” adds Mr. Dorion.

Banner changes will be incremental. A new system will be introduced in the coming weeks. It will take a few months before everything is in place.

The pharmacy will be managed by pharmacist Jean-Pierre Rousseau, who is a friend of Mr. Dorion. “It was he who told me regarding the pharmacy. He will be my eyes and my ears. Discussions for the transaction began this fall in early October. I will be at a distance, but I will come a few times with my spouse and my two children, ”says the young entrepreneur, who is fueled by projects.
