Production of iPhone 15 has started in different countries. Whether in China or India.
Apple has announced that production of the iPhone 15 has started in different countries, including China, Vietnam and India. It is important for Apple to diversify its supply chain and reduce its reliance on China.
As a reminder, China is the main iPhone producing country, but the current geopolitical situation has made it difficult and expensive for Apple to produce iPhones in China. By diversifying its supply chain, Apple hopes to reduce its risk and improve its resilience. But for now, not everything is going as planned.

Currently, production of the iPhone 15 is reportedly slow due to supply issues. According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple aims to produce 77 million iPhone 15s by the end of the year (across all models) compared to around 83 million units previously estimated. The analyst brings up new component problems. In particular on the Sony photo sensors, the new titanium frame for the Pro models and the new screen (without borders).
These supply issues might lead to an iPhone 15 shortage at launch. Additionally, the potential price hike of the iPhone 15 Pro Max might also dampen end-use demand.
It’s still too early to tell if production of the iPhone 15 will actually be reduced. However, supply issues are real and might impact the availability of the iPhone 15. Like every year, Apple is working to get the iPhone 15 available as quickly as possible.
