The International Court of Justice demanded to stop the military operation in Ukraine

The Russian Federation needs to stop the military operation of the country’s armed forces in Ukraine. Such a decision was made by the International Court of Justice, Judge Joan Donoghue said.

The decision of the International Court of Justice on the need to stop the military operation in Ukraine also contains an appeal to the authorities of Russia and Ukraine to refrain from any steps that might provoke a further aggravation of the conflict.

Hearings of the International Court of Justice on the claim filed by Ukraine began in The Hague on March 7, 2022. The Russian delegation never appeared in court. Earlier, the Russian ambassador to the Netherlands informed the court that the Russian authorities did not intend to take part in this procedure.
